There are 8 CTA Inserts protecting the carbon fiber guard from the bolts. These need to be periodically checked for any cracking or extensive wear.
The Glide Ring on the outer tube (B) will also see extensive wear over a long period of time. As the fork flexes under heavy compression, the CTA will put pressure on the glide rings increasing stiffness. This friction does put a heavy burden on these rings and they need to be replaced when completely worn. If you’re in a pinch, a zip tie will do the trick!
